زار رئيس الاتحاد العربي للتطوع الشيخ حسن بو هزاع ، مركز جمعية المسؤولية اللبنانية الاجتماعية في جبيل يرافقه مستشار رئيس الاتحاد العربي الاستاذ شربل قبلان. وكان في استقباله المدير التنفيذي لجمعية LSR ايلي زيدان ومجموعة من المتطوعين.

بعد الاستماع الى عرض عن الجمعية واعمالها، أكد الشيخ بو هزاع على اهمية التطوع لدى الشباب في العالم العربي، مشيراً الى ان السعادة التي يمنحها العطاء لا مثيل لها. وشدد على اهمية تشجيع الانتاج المحلي العربي، اضافة الى تمكين الشباب والعناية بالاطفال. كما جرى خلال اللقاء عرض لسبل التعاون بين جمعية LSR والاتحاد العربي للتطوع.

اشارة الى ان جمعية LSR كانت قد انضمت رسميا للاتحاد العربي للتطوع.

The President of the Arab Voluntary Union Sheikh Hassan Bou Hazaa, visited Lebanese Social Responsibility HQ in Jbeil, accompanied by the Advisor of the President of the Arab Union, Mr. Charbel Kabalan.

He was greeted by the Executive Director of LSR,Elie Zeidan, and a group of members.

After listening to a presentation about the association and its work, Sheikh Bu Hazaa emphasized the importance of volunteering among young people in the Arab world, pointing out that the happiness it instills is unparalleled. He stressed the importance of encouraging local Arab production, in addition to empowering youth and caring for children. During the meeting, there was also a presentation of ways of cooperation between the LSR Society and the Arab Voluntary Union. An indication that the LSR Association has officially joined the Arab Voluntary Union.

Members of LSR participated in a training conducted and implemented by CDLL.

The Training aims at youth leadership, accountability & Advocacy development in the Lebanese society. Investing in skills, health and mental health will help young people revive their educational and career possibilities, empowering them to face the future with confidence and transition smoothly into adulthood.

Members of LSR participated in a Fundraising Brunch organized by YWCA-Jbeil.Its always a pleasure to take part in such events.

We were honored to participate, alongside the Arab Volunteering Union, in the press conference held by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. George Kallas, on the occasion of declaring Beirut the capital of Arab youth for the year 2023.

Ebtisama 1 is a local action financed and sponsored by Crowdstrike and Mearco Insurance, endorsed by Arab Voluntary Union and Implemented by the Lebanese Social Responsibility. Ebtisama aims to create long-term development opportunities aligned with local needs, particularly for youth. Our objectives to contribute to mitigating the destabilizing effects of the Lebanese economic and social crisis.

LSR celebrated becoming a member in the Arab Voluntary Union, in the presence the Organization’s advisor in Lebanon, Mr. Charbel Kabalan, joined by His Excellency Sheikh Hassan Hazaa, Bishop Michan Aoun, Sheikh Ahmed Laqis, Dr. Antoine Issa, Mayor of Amchit, President of the League Mayors Michel Gibran, Financial Secretary of Caritas Association in Lebanon, Sister Emily Tannous, and representatives of charities and other social institutions.

LSR Executive Director, Elie Zaidan, emphasized the importance of the work carried out by NGOs in light of the economic crisis to help citizens, and empower local youth to be role models in their society. He stressed that "despite the difficulties, we refused to emigrate and insisted on staying in our homeland believing in our ability to make a change, and give hope to our community.”

On the occasion of "World Environment Day" and within the global campaign for this year Human Environment Association for Development HEAD launches a Clean Up Campaign to the Mediterranean Sea sponsored by the Ministry of Environment and in cooperation with The Ministry of Tourism and the United Nations Environment Program (West Asia Office).

Representatives of LSR participated in the Youth Venture 2023.

The essence of what Youth Venture is all about: empowering young people to discover their passions, take action, and make a difference in the world.

Today, LSR staff received an informative training prepared and conducted by ABAAD about GBV Core concept and safe identification referrals.

LSR will be holding Positive Parenting sessions for mothers aimed at shedding light on several aspects of childcare.

Sessions extend over 12 weeks.

Promoting local development and involving individuals in their communities is at the forefront of LSRs mission.

LSR has participated in the farmer’s market organized by RMF and USAID that took place in Byblos. An opportunity to encourage local production, whilst showcasing the quality of Lebanese farmers and their output. LSR helped promote and sell products from Lehfed, a village located in Jbeil district. All proceeds went to support the medical center in Lehfed.

LSR Executive director, Elie Zaidan, participated in a conference organized by ESA University with the Ambassador of the European Union in Lebanon, Ralph Tarraf, on the role of the Union in Lebanon on various levels, particularly in light of the current crisis.

Under the patronage of the Lebanese Ministry of Tourism, Human Association for Environment and Development (HEAD) and the Lebanese Social Responsibility (LSR), in cooperation with AFDC and the Municipality of Amchit organized an “Afforestation Campaign in Amchit”

Breaking the stigma of mental health is important for everyone, especially for men and particularly, in the Middle East, where men face unique challenges in seeking help and support.

In response to the on-going crisis, LSR in collaboration with ABAAD has provided a training to a group of men, at LSR Headquarter, on how to deal and cope with stress currently exacerbated by socio-economical challenges.

Members of LSR proudly participated in a workshop about Social contract co-organized by GIZ and BMZ in the context of their "Social Participation and Community Engagement by Youth" initiative.

This initiative is closely linked to our identity and goals; empowering youth and engaging them in their communities through developing their skills.

The Lebanese youth has a lot to give and can achieve great things and is a driving force in rebuilding our communities.
